Terms of use

The check is provided by SymbolicLabs UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG, Harksheider Str. 3, 22889 Tangstedt-Wilstedt, Germany (“we”). It is free of charge and needs no account.

Given the address of a website, the check reads what is publicly visible on its home page and a few well-known paths, at most 16 requests per check, and rates the result. It never logs in, submits forms or tries to exploit anything.

Check only websites you own or are responsible for, for example as an employee, agency or service provider with the owner’s permission. You must not:

• check websites in bulk or automate checks outside the plugin and our website,
• work around our limits, for example with changing identities or addresses,
• use results to attack, blackmail or discredit a website or its owner.

We may refuse or limit checks for certain addresses and block misuse without notice.

• The check sees a website from the outside only. Its result is a lower bound: plugins without traces on the home page, settings behind the login and the server itself remain unseen.
• It is not a security audit, penetration test or malware scan. No findings does not mean that a website is secure.
• Vulnerabilities are matched by version numbers against public databases and shown as count and severity only. A match does not prove that a vulnerability can be exploited on the site.
• Privacy findings describe technical signals, such as fonts loaded from Google servers. They are not a legal assessment and not legal advice.
• The result reflects the moment of the check. Websites and vulnerability data change.

We take care to make the check accurate, but we do not guarantee that a result is complete or correct. Before you change a website based on it, make a backup.

We offer the check free of charge and without any guaranteed availability. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. Otherwise, and as far as the law permits, we are not liable for damage arising from the use of the check or its results, in particular not for changes you make to a website based on a result.

In ChatGPT, OpenAI’s terms and privacy policy also apply. The answers in the chat are written by ChatGPT based on our result; we are responsible for the result, not for how ChatGPT phrases or extends it.

German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected. We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of the check applies. Questions go to info@symboliclabs.de.
